" Stonestreet Stables homebred JESS’S DREAM (c, 3, Curlin–Rachel Alexandra {Horse of the Year & Ch. 3yo Filly & MGISW, $3,506,730}, by Medaglia d’Oro), the first foal produced by 2009 Horse of the Year and $3.5-million earner Rachel Alexandra by Stonestreet’s Hall of Famer and two-time Horse of the Year Curlin, ran to his monumental pedigree with a dramatic last-to-first ‘TDN Rising Star’ performance Monday afternoon. Carrying the same silks as his sire and dam once did at odds of 3-1, the dark bay was away from the gate a step slowly and dropped back to trail the field by nearly 20 lengths as favored All Rise (Mineshaft) carved out fractions of :23.03 and :47.85. The colt gained a head of steam on the far turn, angled to the center of the strip turning for home and rallied past all of his rivals to post a half-length score over Securitiz (Tiznow). The final time for nine furlongs was 1:49.06. Rachel Alexandra’s first foal to race, the 2-year-old filly Rachel’s Valentina (Bernardini), graduated in her debut here Aug. 2, also earning ‘TDN Rising Star’ status.
