Voici le quatrième foal de la championne australienne Black Caviar. Véritable superstar dans son pays, dans lequel elle a reçu plusieurs distinctions dont le cheval de l’année en 2011 et 2012 ou encore athlète féminine australienne, la jument invaincue en 25 sorties (dont 15 groupes I) fait désormais parler d’elle au haras. Cette pouliche est issue de More Than Ready, champion américain du début des années 2000. La première production de la crack, qui se nomme Oscietra, a triomphé en débutant courant août sur l'hippodrome de Geelong (Australie). Quant au deuxième, âgé de deux ans, il n’a pas encore couru.

Legendary mare Black Caviar has foaled a filly to champion stallion More Than Ready.

The new addition is the fourth foal born by the world champion mare.

Black Caviar’s first foal, by Exceed And Excel, races as Oscietra and won her first race at Geelong on August 11 at just her second start. That filly is trained by David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

Black Caviar has an unraced two-year-old colt by Sebring named Prince Of Caviar, trained by John, Michael and Wayne Hawkes, and an unnamed yearling filly by Snitzel.

Neil Werrett, managing part-owner of Black Caviar, reported that the mare and foal were both doing well. There has been no word yet on whether she will be served by a stallion this season.

Trained at Caulfield by Peter Moody, Black Caviar remained unbeaten on the racetrack in her 25-start career, with wins in 15 Group 1 races. She earned over $7.9 million in prize money over a four-year career.
